Rocket Science

Anyone else out there watch the Super Bowl last night and a get a feeling that Seattle totally got jobbed? Well if you did, check out my recap of the critical bone-head calls from the zebras last night and tell me what you think:

3 key plays

• 1st quarter, like 3 minutes to go, seattle scores apparent TD with WR jackson, which is called back when Pitt DB barks at ref, that there was a "push off" and the zebra pulls out flag and calls OFFENSIVE PI (when the hell do you see that call), replay shows minor touching by Seattle WR jackson, however, universally agreed that it was not PI
• okay, key play 2, Pitt's QB Big Ben, on 3rd and Goal with Pitt down 3-0 pulls a naked bootleg to try and score go ahead TD before the half, he gets stopped inches from goaline, has ball tucked underneath him, behind plane, on-field ref calls TD, however replays show that ball obviously doesn't cross goaline, but difficult to see, yet, they still review it, ref decides not enough evidence to overturn call, so on the field call stands, pitt up 7-3, end of half
• finally, last crucial play, seattle down 14-10, driving, 3rd quarter about 6 mins left before 4th, long passing play from hasselback to TE, TE catches ball at 1 yrd line, seattle 1st and goal, ready to go up 17-14, play called back from phantom holding call on right tackle, replays show nothing out of the ordinary, 2 plays later, hasselback throws INT, and then gets called for phantom cut block, ON A PLAY IN WHICH HE WAS TRYING TO MAKE TACKLE, holy christ, never seen such a shitty call, and basically that's game
